TULAY to RISE: Building the Bridge for the Future of Filipino Nursing

Leadership is not a title; it is a commitment to the journey of others. As I begin my term as your President for 2026-2028, I do so with a clear and intentional purpose: to ensure that no nurse in our community has to walk their path alone.
My own story began just two years ago, migrating from Saudi Arabia to Northern California. I know the weight of starting over—the uncertainty of a new healthcare system and the quiet struggle of rebuilding a career in a foreign land.
I was fortunate to find a "bridge" in PNANC that transformed my transition into a trajectory of success, leading me to my current role as a Manager of Clinical Services at DaVita.
However, success should not be a matter of luck. It should be a matter of design.
This is why my administration is anchored in the mantra: “TULAY to RISE.” This is more than a slogan; it is our strategic blueprint. We are moving forward with intentionality in four specific areas:
RECONNECT with Purpose: We will not just network; we will build active community partnerships and advocacy platforms that give the Filipino nursing voice the seat at the table it has earned.
INNOVATE with Inclusion: We are intentionally opening doors for our internationally educated nurses and students, ensuring our organization evolves with the modern healthcare landscape while remaining rooted in our heritage.
STRENGTHEN through Engagement: We will move beyond meetings to create meaningful, high-impact activities that provide real value to nursing professional lives.
EMPOWER through Action: Our leadership training and mentorship will be rigorous and results-oriented, designed to turn members into the next generation of Chief Nursing Officers, Administrators, and healthcare innovators.
To the nurse who just arrived in this country: we are your sanctuary.
To the student nurse looking for a path: we are your guide.
To the seasoned leader looking to give back: we are your platform.
I am not here to stand above you. I am here to stand beside you, to listen, and to act. Let us be the TULAY (the Bridge) that allows every Filipino nurse in America to RISE.
